I had the pleasure of delivering the first 200 Linens for Life™ tote bags to MELIÃ DURRËS ALBANIA.
These bags have been handcrafted from end-of-life hotel linens collected from MELIÃ DURRËS ALBANIA and transformed into reusable products through the dedicated work of “Kashar Craft Women”, creating a practical example of circular economy in action.

A special thank you to Juan Tuñon Cifre, General Manager of MELIÃ DURRËS ALBANIA, who warmly welcomed and supported this initiative, recognizing the value of giving hotel textiles a second life through sustainable and responsible practices.
Linens for Life™ – Project Results
• Textile collected and prepared for reuse: 100 kg
• Production target: 500 reusable bags
• Completed and delivered: 200 bags
• Currently in production: 300 bags
• Average weight per bag: 65–75 g
• Total textile transformed in the first 200 bags: 13–15 kg
• Volunteers involved: 3 women
• Project duration: 14 days
• Volunteer working hours contributed: 210 hours

This initiative demonstrates how the hospitality industry can embrace circular economy principles, transforming textile waste into valuable products while creating positive environmental and social impact.
